Job description

We are seeking a Lead Front-End Engineer / Front-End Architect to lead the design and development of modern, high-performance web applications using React and TypeScript. This is a front-end focused leadership role requiring strong hands-on development, architecture, performance optimization, accessibility, testing, and mentoring experience.

The ideal candidate will partner closely with Product, UX, backend, and platform teams to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly web experiences while establishing front-end engineering standards and best practices., * Lead development of complex user-facing web applications using React and TypeScript.

  • Own front-end architecture, technical decisions, development standards, and delivery approach.
  • Partner with Product and UX teams to translate designs into responsive, accessible, and high-quality user experiences.
  • Establish standards for component architecture, state management, routing, coding conventions, and testing.
  • Work with design systems/component libraries, theming, responsive layouts, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Drive front-end performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals, bundle optimization, rendering strategies, caching, and observability.
  • Develop advanced UI capabilities including data visualization, real-time updates, offline-friendly experiences, and complex forms/workflows.
  • Collaborate with backend teams on GraphQL and REST APIs, including pagination, filtering, error handling, and client-side caching.
  • Implement secure front-end patterns involving authentication, token handling, secure storage, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and development tools based on scalability, cost, risk, and maintainability.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Present architectural decisions and technical recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Establish coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to front-end engineers.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant front-end development experience.
  • Expert-level React / ReactJS experience.
  • Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript experience.
  • Strong knowledge of React Hooks, component composition, Context, rendering behavior, and modern React patterns.
  • Experience with modern front-end build tools such as Vite, Webpack, Babel, or SWC.
  • Strong HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, CSS architecture, and theming experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Jest/Vitest and React Testing Library.
  • Experience with Playwright or Cypress for end-to-end testing.
  • Strong understanding of WCAG, ARIA, keyboard navigation, and accessibility testing.
  • Strong front-end performance optimization experience, including Core Web Vitals, profiling, bundle splitting, caching, and SSR/CSR trade-offs.
  • Strong API integration experience with GraphQL and REST.
  • Understanding of web application security, including XSS, CSRF, secure authentication/session patterns, and dependency security.
  • Experience with front-end logging, monitoring, error reporting, and production debugging.
  • Must have experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar tools for coding, refactoring, testing, and debugging.
  • Strong technical leadership, communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Next.js or Remix and SSR experience.
  • Storybook and Design Systems experience.
  • Micro-frontends and Module Federation experience.
  • Data visualization technologies such as D3, Canvas, or WebGL.
  • Experience with advanced data grids/tables and animation libraries.
  • OIDC/OAuth2 and enterprise SSO integration experience.
  • Experience modernizing legacy front-end applications.
  • Experience improving developer experience (DX), build processes, and engineering productivity.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a Principal/Staff/Lead Front-End Engineer or Front-End Architect with:

15+ years overall experience + strong React + TypeScript + Front-End Architecture + Testing + Accessibility + Performance + GraphQL/REST + Next.js/SSR + AI-assisted development tools + Technical Leadership.
