Job description

The Best Connection are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Associate IT Administrator to join our team and provide support across IT, infrastructure, systems administration, and end-user technology services.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their IT career who wants to gain hands-on experience supporting computer systems, servers, software, and users in a professional environment.

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and standard software.
  • Support the ongoing availability and performance of IT systems through routine maintenance, updates, and patching.
  • Monitor system alerts, logs, and performance issues, escalating problems where required.
  • Provide first-line technical support and assist users with IT-related queries.
  • Support backup, recovery, and security procedures.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system records, and user guides.
  • Assist with IT asset management, equipment tracking, and software licensing.
  • Support hardware upgrades, installations, and equipment provisioning.
  • Develop basic scripts and automation tools to improve routine IT processes.
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to support effective IT operations.

Requirements

  • Interested in developing a career in IT infrastructure and systems administration.
  • Organised, detail-focused, and able to follow established processes.
  • Confident communicating with users and explaining technical information clearly.
  • Comfortable working independently while knowing when to escalate issues.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A degree, qualification, or training in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related subject (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and computer hardware.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory is desirable.
  • Some experience with scripting, IT support tools, monitoring systems, or backup solutions is beneficial.
  • Previous IT support experience is welcomed, but candidates with strong technical interest and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

  • Competitive hourly pay of £12.71 - £13.50 per hour.
  • Hands-on experience in a growing IT environment.
  • The opportunity to build valuable infrastructure and support skills.
  • A supportive team environment with guidance and development opportunities.
