Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a growing organisation, supporting and enhancing critical IT infrastructure while helping to maintain strong cyber security and compliance standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of IT systems, ensuring users receive a high level of support while maintaining secure, reliable, and compliant technology environments. The role is fully site-based, offering a varied and hands-on opportunity for an individual who enjoys working across support, infrastructure, and security., * Provide day-to-day IT support, including hardware, software, networking, and user troubleshooting.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across business systems.
  • Monitor network activity and support the implementation of security best practices.
  • Ensure systems are appropriately patched, updated, maintained, and documented.
  • Support compliance initiatives relating to Cyber Essentials, GDPR, ISO standards, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing technical documentation and subject matter expertise.
  • Maintain and improve network infrastructure, including TCP/IP and associated technologies.
  • Support and administer Microsoft 365, Azure, and related cloud services.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable IT operations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Several years of experience in an IT Support, Infrastructure, or Systems Administration role.
  • A strong understanding of IT security principles, data protection, and compliance requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of Cyber Essentials and its practical application within a business environment.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, hardware, and software solutions.
  • Solid networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fully on-site environment and provide face-to-face support to end users.
  • A willingness to undergo stringent background checks due to the nature of the organisation and its clients.
  • On-site with parking
