Job description

We’re seeking multiple Senior Design Engineers to support missionized aircraft programs. This role is full-scope design engineering with exposure to MRB, manufacturing support, and aftermarket/special missions modifications. You will play a key role in resolving build issues, developing engineering solutions, and authoring structural and systems installations for special mission aircraft.

What You’ll Contribute

  • Investigate design/build issues and develop structural engineering and instrumentation installation solutions
  • Author temporary engineering to resolve build issues quickly and effectively
  • Disposition aircraft non-conformances, including rework instructions (MRB)
  • Perform drawing investigations and coordinate with Quality, Operations, and other engineering disciplines
  • Design Flight Test engineering change requests and collaborate with work package owners
  • Author engineering defining structural special instructions or restrictions
  • Design and release Special Missions Engineering structural and systems installations

Requirements

Do you have experience in Sheet metal?, * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or related field

  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience
  • Minimum 15,000 hours in CATIA V5 ( 8 years; ideal 8-10 years)
  • Required CATIA V5 Workbenches:
  • Assembly Design
  • Part Design (Boolean Operations)
  • Aerospace Sheetmetal
  • Tubing Design
  • Nice to have:
  • Kinematics
  • Electrical Harness Routing
  • Siemens NX and/or Teamcenter PLM
  • Experience in Special Missions or Aftermarket modifications (required)
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and aircraft modifications (required)
  • Prior experience leading a team of engineers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with strong ownership of deliverables
  • Proficient with MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Any additional aircraft or manufacturing experience is a plus
