Job description

Experteer Overview As Enterprise Architect at AEP, you will define and govern the technology landscape to align with business strategy, scalability, and long-term direction. You will set standards, guide platform decisions, and partner with engineering, security, and business teams to deliver interoperable, future-ready solutions. You’ll lead architecture oversight for major initiatives and ensure security and compliance while supporting strategic digital and grid modernization. This role offers the chance to shape enterprise technology at a leading energy company and work across cross-functional teams to drive meaningful impact. Compensation / Benefits * Define and maintain enterprise architecture strategy and standards across back office, front office, and IT landscape * Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks and tools * Maintain enterprise portfolio map and architecture repository including system relationships and lifecycle status * Govern application architecture standards (microservices, event-driven, domain-driven design, API-first) and oversee major initiatives for alignment with standards and security * Define IT architecture standards for identity/access management, endpoint management, network segmentation, and tooling governance * Identify and mitigate architectural risk, technical debt, and integration gaps; ensure security and compliance * Drive adoption of standards via audits and technical reviews * Partner with engineering, product, security, and infrastructure on design reviews; mentor engineers and architects * Document and socialize architectural roadmaps, target states, and transition strategies; stay current on emerging technology trends Tasks * 10+ years in software engineering or architecture with enterprise-scale design * Deep knowledge of microservices, APIs, cloud-native, and event-driven architectures * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern DevOps practices * Experience building and governing an enterprise portfolio across SaaS, custom, and legacy systems; driving rationalization at scale * Track record introducing new technology including AI/GenAI architecture * Vendor technical leadership: review work, manage risk, drive quality * Ability to influence and align without direct authority; communicate architectural vision to senior leadership * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field Key requirements *
