Sr. Mobile Developer (React Native/ iOS/ Android)

Beacon Hill is seeking a Senior Mobile Developer to support one of our clients in the design, development, and delivery of enterprise mobile applications across React Native, iOS, and Android platforms. This individual will serve as a senior member of the mobile engineering team, driving the development of scalable, high-performance applications while providing technical leadership and mentorship to other developers.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, QA teams, architects, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into innovative mobile solutions. You will be responsible for designing and developing new features, enhancing existing functionality, and ensuring applications meet the highest standards of performance, security, scalability, and user experience.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in React Native, Swift/iOS, and Kotlin/Android development, along with a strong understanding of modern mobile architectures, CI/CD practices, mobile testing frameworks, and cloud-integrated applications. This person will participate in architectural discussions, perform code reviews, champion engineering best practices, and help drive continuous improvement across the mobile development lifecycle.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining cross-platform and native mobile applications, optimizing application performance, troubleshooting complex technical issues, enforcing coding standards, supporting release management processes, and contributing to the overall technical direction of mobile initiatives. The Senior Mobile Developer will play a key role in delivering high-quality mobile experiences while ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term technology strategies.

10+ years of hands-on mobile development experience, with strong expertise across React Native, iOS, and Android platforms.

Expert-level proficiency in React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern cross-platform mobile development workflows.

Strong native iOS development experience, including Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and a solid understanding of Objective-C.

Strong native Android development experience, including Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK, Android Studio, and modern Android development practices.

Experience designing and developing high-quality mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.

Strong understanding of modern mobile architectures, including MVVM, Clean Architecture, Redux-style state management, and scalable mobile design patterns.

Ability to define and enforce best practices for React Native, iOS, and Android development, ensuring high standards for performance, scalability, maintainability, and code quality.

Experience designing and implementing technical architectures for cross-platform and native mobile applications.

Strong knowledge of mobile UI/UX design principles, accessibility standards, and experience building responsive, performant, and reusable custom components.

Expertise in performance optimization, memory management, concurrency, and multithreading across native and cross-platform mobile environments.

Experience identifying performance bottlenecks and implementing solutions to optimize app performance across iOS and Android devices.

Proficiency with Git and version control workflows, including GitFlow, trunk-based development, or similar branching strategies.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar platforms.

Experience with testing frameworks across mobile ecosystems, including XCTest, XCUITest, Jest, Detox, Cypress, or similar tools.

Strong focus on writing clean, maintainable, scalable, and testable code.

Experience conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, providing technical direction, and guiding technical decision-making.

Ability to lead the development of new features and enhancements while ensuring efficient development cycles and high-quality releases.

Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Experience working with cloud platforms such as Firebase, AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

Experience with App Store and Play Store submission processes, including app signing, versioning, release management, and compliance with store guidelines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, QA engineers, delivery managers, and other stakeholders.

Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality mobile solutions.

Passion for staying current with mobile development trends, tools, frameworks, and best practices across React Native, iOS, and Android.

Desired Skills:

Experience architecting large-scale, multi-platform mobile solutions across React Native, iOS, and Android.

Familiarity with additional cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter or Kotlin Multiplatform.

Familiarity with modern React Native architecture, including TurboModules and Fabric.

Knowledge of modern iOS technologies such as Combine, async/await, and Swift Concurrency.

Experience with advanced performance profiling and memory optimization tools for iOS, Android, and React Native applications.

Strong understanding of mobile security best practices.

Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams, applications, or product lines.

Strong presence as a technical leader who can advocate for engineering best practices and long-term architectural health.

Passion for continuous improvement in software engineering practices, tooling, automation, and mobile development workflows.
