Job description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Systems Administrator to join our IT Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and improving the Company’s office and vessel IT infrastructure, ensuring high levels of availability, security, and reliability., * Administer and maintain the Company’s office and vessel IT infrastructure.

  • Provide third-line technical support and act as the primary escalation point for complex issues.
  • Manage Windows server environments and enterprise services.
  • Manage users, permissions and security groups.
  • Administer Hyper-V virtual infrastructure.
  • Manage backups.
  • Monitor performance, availability and reliability.
  • Ensure systems remain secure through patch management.
  • Perform server maintenance and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Participate in infrastructure implementation and upgrade projects.
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation and technical procedures.
  • Liaise with vendors, service providers and third-party support providers.
  • Ensure compliance with Company IT policies and Cyber Security procedures.

Requirements

  • A BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent IT qualification is desirable. Relevant industry experience will be considered an advantage.
  • Previous experience as a Systems Administrator or similar infrastructure role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Groups Policy, DNS, DHCP.
  • Experience with Hyper-V and VMware virtualisation.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with backup solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring systems.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage priorities.
