Job description

We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Website Specialist to support the client in maintaining and modernizing accessible, user-friendly HR websites. This role focuses on ensuring ADA and WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance, improving website usability, optimizing digital content, and supporting website modernization initiatives across internal and public-facing HR platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in digital accessibility, web content management, UX best practices, and accessibility testing tools, with the ability to collaborate across HR, Communications, and IT teams to deliver inclusive digital experiences., * Conduct accessibility audits and remediate website content to ensure ADA/WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance.

  • Review, edit, and optimize web content for clarity, usability, accessibility, and plain language.
  • Support website redesign and modernization efforts using user-centered design principles.
  • Develop and maintain accessibility governance, content standards, and review processes.
  • Perform usability evaluations and recommend improvements based on analytics and user feedback.
  • Create accessible graphics, templates, and visual content aligned with branding standards.
  • Provide accessibility training and guidance to content contributors and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with HR, Communications, and IT teams to improve digital services and maintain compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Digital Media, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in website management, digital accessibility, UX, or content strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of ADA and WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar CMS platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with accessibility testing tools such as WAVE, Axe, Siteimprove, or similar.
  • Knowledge of UX, information architecture, and plain language principles., * Accessibility certifications such as CPACC, WAS, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in government, public sector, or large enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting both internal intranet and external public-facing websites.
