Reliability Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will drive reliability for heavy industrial equipment, developing strategies to reduce failures and waste. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to embed best practices and deliver measurable improvements in equipment performance. You’ll lead RCAs, reliability analyses, and maintenance strategy updates to boost OEE and asset availability. The position starts as a contract with the aim of converting to a permanent role in a state-of-the-art facility, offering high-impact projects and cross-functional collaboration. Compensation / Benefits * Identify and prioritize critical equipment for reliability work * Assess failure consequences and risks for critical assets * Conduct root cause analyses and FMECA to determine preventive actions * Perform maintenance and integrity audits to ensure standards * Analyze equipment history and performance data for improvements * Manage KPIs for critical equipment and monitor trends * Develop and refine maintenance strategies to improve reliability and availability * Monitor OEE and other KPIs and take corrective actions * Develop predictive maintenance tactics based on data and condition monitoring * Lead reliability improvement projects and justify/implement them * Support maintenance teams with technical problem solving * Conduct life cycle cost and operability studies for equipment * Review reliability in change management proposals and ensure alignment with objectives * Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to standardize procedures * Support continuous improvement of SOPs and maintenance practices Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering * Approximately 3 years of experience in project and maintenance engineering * Experience in reliability or maintenance engineering in heavy industrial environments * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with data interpretation * Facilitation skills for cross-functional reviews and RCAs * RCM skills for maintenance strategy development * CMMS usage for data extraction and analysis * RCA skills for systematic investigations * FMECA skills to evaluate risk and priorities * Knowledge of heavy industrial equipment in refinery, metals, chemical environments * Familiarity with maintenance and asset management in manufacturing or heavy industry * Ability to support and improve OEE and reliability KPIs Key requirements * Medical, dental & vision * 401(k) Retirement Plan * Life Insurance (Voluntary) * Short and long-term disability * Health Spending Account (HSA) * Time Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave)
