Functional Systems Engineer

Experteer Overview As a Systems Engineer in the Functional Development team, you will derive and manage requirements, support design and certification, and contribute to programme delivery. You’ll engage with stakeholders including the Poland programme and aid engineering change management across complex systems. This role blends requirements engineering, certification activities, and project support within a defence context. You’ll gain breadth across multiple engineering activities and influence customer outcomes in a challenging, impact-driven environment. Compensation / Benefits * Derive system, subsystem and software requirements from customer needs * Support system design, technical studies and requirements management * Contribute to certification activities, including evidence capture and Certificate of Design delivery * Support programme delivery, bid activities and stakeholder engagement (including the Poland programme) * Undertake engineering change management, trade studies and system development activities Tasks * Systems engineering experience, ideally within the defence sector * Experience in requirements management and systems engineering tools (e.g. DOORS, DOORS NG, Rhapsody) * Ability to communicate complex technical information to a range of stakeholders * Experience of engineering change management and complex systems development * Strong stakeholder management and communication skills * Product line experience is advantageous Key requirements * hybrid working
