Job description
seeking an experienced Systems Analyst 3 / Cloud Data Migration Engineer to lead Oracle-to-AWS cloud migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), AWS infrastructure, ETL/ELT, cloud networking, Infrastructure as Code, and migration planning. This role focuses on modernizing legacy applications while ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions., Design and implement Oracle-to-AWS migration solutions using AWS DMS. Support full-load, Change Data Capture (CDC), and real-time streaming data migrations. Develop AWS cloud infrastructure using VPCs, subnets, security groups, VPNs, Direct Connect, and routing. Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and Lambda. Automate infrastructure deployments using Terraform or CloudFormation. Build and support ETL/ELT data integration pipelines. Develop migration strategies, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and minimize downtime. Create automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Monitor cloud environments using AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail. Produce technical documentation, migration runbooks, and architecture designs. Support hybrid cloud connectivity and modernization of legacy on-premises systems.
Requirements
8+ years of IT experience in designing, developing, or deploying technology solutions. 8+ years of Oracle-to-AWS migration using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS). Strong experience with: AWS DMS Oracle Database AWS Infrastructure (VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, Routing) EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda CloudFormation or Terraform ETL/ELT and Data Integration Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting VPN, Direct Connect, Cloud Networking AWS CloudWatch & CloudTrail Migration planning, cutover, rollback, and disaster recovery Hybrid cloud and legacy modernization Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database Specialty. Experience working with Texas State Agencies or other public sector organizations.
Benefits & conditions
Hybrid schedule: 3 days remote / 2 days onsite (Monday & Thursday). Candidates must already live in Texas and be local to the Austin area. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on project needs.
