IT Hardware Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will serve as the technical authority for hardware design supporting the DIA CIS program. You will lead the creation of critical design artifacts, CONOPS, and training materials to deliver high-performance infrastructure. Through hands-on lab work, you will validate hardware configurations and drive seamless handoffs to operations, while improving VDI performance and reliability. You will contribute to CSI initiatives and help scale solutions for national security missions. Compensation / Benefits * Analyze requirements, concepts of operations, and system architectures to craft infrastructure designs aligned with program objectives * Architect systems with capacity, performance, and SLAs to optimize user experience and resource utilization * Collaborate with Operations and Government stakeholders to meet availability, reliability, resiliency, and operability goals * Research design options and conduct AoAs to guide technology choices and feasibility studies * Lead or guide cross-functional teams to produce design artifacts, test cases, and CONOPS documentation * Research emerging technologies and drive tradeoff decisions as part of Continual Service Improvement (CSI) * Direct lab facilities to enable rigorous experimentation, feasibility assessments, and technology investigations * Develop and execute comprehensive test cases/scripts for unit and system validation in Lab environments * Manage lifecycle transfer of engineered solutions to Operations during acceptance testing, Blue/Green fielding, and early production * Provide advanced troubleshooting and optimization for VDI performance during operations * Develop long-term strategies for system assessment, vendor evaluation, procurement, governance, risk management, and phased compliance * Champion end-to-end transition of engineering services from development to daily operations Tasks * Top Secret SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to start * DOD 8140 Certification (Security+) * Education/Experience combinations: HS with 16+ years, AA with 14+ years, BS/BA with 12+ years, MS/MA with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years * Minimum 4 years hands-on experience in designing, integrating, validating, and implementing IT hardware and software solutions * Willingness to learn new skills and technologies Key requirements * flexible time off * robust learning resources * healthcare * retirement benefits * family support * time off benefits
