Platform Engineer

Experteer Overview In this Platform Engineer role, you will design and operate secure, scalable platform services across Windows, Linux, on-premises, and cloud environments to support DIA’s mission objectives. You will drive modernization, automation, and reliable performance while ensuring compliance with DoD/IC standards, RMF/ATO, and DISA STIG requirements. The position involves collaborating with operations and government stakeholders to deliver mission-aligned platform solutions and transition them into production. Compensation / Benefits * Design Windows Server and Linux OS configurations to host enterprise systems and applications * Lead modernization and upgrade efforts for SQL Server clusters with RMF/ATO accreditation * Implement agency, DoD, IC standards for security and compliance (DISA STIG) across platforms * Manage DIA database infrastructure including SQL Server clusters and standalone databases * Support IATT and recurring ATO packages for inherited environments * Collaborate with Operations to maximize availability and reliability of platforms * Automate builds, configurations, and deployment processes for high-availability services * Produce detailed designs, test cases, and training content including CONOPS * Research new platform technologies and perform trade-off analyses for continual service improvement * Support end-to-end engineering-to-operations transition for stable platform performance Tasks * Current Top Secret SCI clearance with ability to obtain polygraph prior to start * DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role (minimum Security+) * Extensive experience with IT hardware/software solution design and integration * Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or RHCSA or LPIC-1 certification * Willingness to learn new skills and technologies * 16+ years with HS, 14+ with AA, 12+ with BS/BA, 10+ with MS, or 8+ with PhD (various degree hierarchies acceptable) Key requirements * flexible time off * robust learning resources * comprehensive healthcare benefits * retirement plans * wellness programs * time off benefits
