Job description
Our client, a large defense and aerospace company, is looking for a Test Engineer to support factory floor testing on an existing development contract. This role works hands-on with upgraded equipment, testing discrete signals and interacting closely with hardware on the factory floor. The position is time-sensitive and tied to the current calendar year., * Supporting factory floor testing of upgraded equipment involving discrete signals
- Setting up and running tests using National Instruments (NI) TestStand and equipment
- Using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other measurement equipment to verify hardware behavior
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware issues independently before escalating to an electrical engineer
- Working closely with the factory support team to keep test stands running and upgraded equipment qualified
Requirements
- Active DoD Collateral Secret clearance (required)
- Hands-on experience with National Instruments (NI) hardware and software
- Experience working with test stands in a factory or lab environment
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and similar measurement equipment
- Comfortable with close hardware interaction and discrete signal testing
- Able to attempt and resolve hardware issues without immediately needing an electrical engineer
Pluses:
- Prior factory floor or production test support experience in a defense/aerospace environment
- Experience qualifying upgraded or modified test equipment
- LabVIEW or TestStand experience beyond general NI familiarity
