Experteer Overview Join Police Scotland’s Specialist Crime Division to advance TEI capabilities and bolster national policing tech. You will act as the technical SME for exploit development, pentesting, risk assessment, and AI-driven tooling, guiding capability design and interoperability with forces and partners. The role combines hands-on technical work with cross-agency collaboration to transform policing operations. You will operate in a purpose-driven environment focused on safety, integrity, and progression within a national organization. Pay / Benefits * Lead and develop TEI-related capabilities and technology to support national policing efforts * Drive national, coordinated projects to enhance TEI and technical collections capabilities * Act as technical subject matter expert in exploit development, penetration testing, risk assessment, AI tools, and vulnerability testing with oversight for capability design * Make critical technology decisions for operations and ensure proper assurance of designs * Liaise and present to Police forces and external partner organisations across the country * Participate in practical assessment elements during interview; role is office-based with standard hours * Operate in a role that emphasizes integrity, fairness, and service to communities Tasks * Experience in exploit development, penetration testing, risk assessment, AI tooling, and vulnerability testing * Ability to provide oversight and assurance for capability design * Strong communication and presentation skills for cross-agency liaison * Driving licence essential * UK residency of at least 10 years * DV vetting ability and eligibility * British or EU/EEA/Commonwealth/Nationals acceptable for role * Residence in the UK for a minimum of ten years prior to application Key requirements * Competitive salary with annual increments * Full-time or part-time shift patterns * 28 days annual leave plus 6 public holidays * Local government pension scheme * Ongoing training and professional growth * Comprehensive wellbeing support and rewards network
