SENIOR FRONT END ENGINEER JOB TYPE: Fulltime LOCATION: San Francisco, CA DEPARTMENT: Engineering At OpenTable, we take pleasure in Software Development. Bonus points if you love restaurants too!, You’d join OpenTable’s Promoted Inventory (PI) team, a full-stack team that is responsible for building out the marketplace platform. We are also building a suite of cutting edge products into the marketplace platform, targeted to our growing restaurant base. The team is cross-functional, front end and back end sit together, co-located with product, design and delivery management. We use agile development methods to continuously deliver production ready code. Front End Engineers on the PI team build and own complex web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks, with a desire to achieve great design, performance, quality and continuously evolve our technology stack. You will be responsible for sound technical execution through hands-on development, automated testing, and prototyping on our flagship product called Guest Center. Guest Center allows thousands of restaurants build inventory, set availability in real time, and manage operations.

Requirements

  • Confidence in your abilities, including working collaboratively with others.
  • Maintain a sense of humor, and have fun while juggling concurrent initiatives.
  • An eagerness to produce results using sound front end standards and practices.
  • Excitement for OpenTable and what we are trying to achieve. REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Front End Engineer.
  • Advanced level knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5.
  • Experience with Javascript frameworks like React and Angular.
  • Proficiency with Git/GitHub.
  • Excellent communication skills and being able to work independently or in a full team.
  • Experience working in an agile-based methodology.
  • Experience in unit and integration testing. OPTIONAL, BUT A MAJOR PLUS:

  • Full stack web development.
  • Proficiency in Node.js
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors like Sass or PostCSS.
  • Experience with Docker, and continuous deployment.
