Api Platform Engineer, Kong Api & Ai Gateway

Experteer Overview In this role you will operate and evolve the Kong API Gateway and AI Gateway in production, enabling secure, observable, self-service API onboarding and policy delivery for application teams.You will drive automation, GitOps workflows, and platform tooling to reduce toil and improve reliability.You’ll work on securing, observing and scaling a critical API platform across Azure and Kubernetes, while shaping how teams connect to AI services.This is a hands-on, ownership-led opportunity in a global engineering environment.Compensaciones / Beneficios * Operate and improve Kong API Gateway in production across Azure, handling incidents, changes, upgrades, security, capacity and lifecycle management * Design and implement automation and self-service capabilities for API onboarding and policy delivery * Develop platform services using APIs, GitOps, CI/CD and infrastructure as code * Establish observability across metrics, logs and traces with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana and Elastic Stack, while enforcing security policies and identity standards * Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and translate learnings into platform improvements * Share on-call duties and use incidents to reduce recurring toil Responsabilidades * Hands-on production experience with an API gateway * Strong production experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and Azure (e.g., AKS) and identity services (Entra ID) * Automation skills using GitOps, CI/CD and infrastructure/configuration as code (e.g., Terraform, Helm, Argo CD, GitLab CI) * Software development or scripting experience; Go or Java/Spring Boot advantageous * Solid networking knowledge including TLS, certificates, secrets, OAuth/OIDC * Experience with observability and incident response in regulated environments; OpenTelemetry is a plus Requisitos principales * Flexible work models * Personal development and learning offerings * Agile working methods
