Job description

Experteer Overview As Staff Distributed Systems Engineer for Ads Policy Infrastructure, you will guide the architecture and technical direction of Netflix’s policy platform across the ads ecosystem. You’ll collaborate with Policy, Product, Operations, and multiple engineering teams to align roadmaps and deliver scalable, reliable policy governance. You’ll stay hands-on, delivering designs, prototypes, and production systems that improve enforcement and performance. This role offers impact at scale, shaping how ads are governed, evaluated, and presented to users. You’ll join a mission-driven team focused on safe, effective advertising experiences that respect members’ viewing experience. Compensation / Benefits * Set long-term technical strategy and architecture for shared policy models, governance services, and consumer integration contracts * Define reliability, scalability, security, and operational standards across campaign planning, creative review, serving, live workflows, forecasting, and reporting * Identify gaps across teams, quantify business impact, and influence roadmaps toward cross-system solutions * Remain hands-on by delivering code, designs, prototypes, and architecture to accelerate delivery Tasks * Extensive AdTech experience; policy/trust & safety experience is a plus * Proven track record solving highly complex, ambiguous problems * Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems on JVM or similar * Ability to set strategic direction and drive architectural decisions across multiple systems or teams * Strong API design, data modeling, schema evolution, and backward-compatible evaluation * Knowledge of TypeScript, UX/UI design principles * Excellent communication of complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders * History of cross-team alignment and mentoring engineers Key requirements * Health Plans * Mental Health support * 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match * Stock Option Program * Disability Programs * Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts
