The Lead Analyst will support the execution and operationalization of Empower’s enterprise data governance and knowledge management strategy under the leadership of the Senior Director. This role will partner with business, technology, risk, and legal stakeholders to implement governance frameworks, strengthen data quality, support regulatory compliance, and maintain audit-ready controls across structured and unstructured data domains. The Lead Analyst will also enable metadata, lineage, data quality, AI and GenAI governance, data product lifecycle integration, and enterprise knowledge management capabilities.

What you will do:

  • Execute and operationalize enterprise data governance and knowledge management frameworks aligned with established policies, standards, and industry models, including DCAM and DAMA.
  • Support data stewardship activities, including onboarding, training, and coordination of data owners and stewards across business domains.
  • Maintain and enhance metadata, catalog, and lineage capabilities, including Collibra, business glossaries, and critical data element lifecycle management.
  • Monitor and report on data quality metrics, service-level agreements, and observability processes.
  • Coordinate data quality issue identification, escalation, and remediation tracking.
  • Assist in implementing governance controls within data product lifecycles, including checkpoints for data quality, privacy, and lineage.
  • Support regulatory compliance efforts related to CCPA, GLBA, ERISA, and SEC and FINRA requirements by maintaining documentation, evidence, and audit artifacts.
  • Contribute to the governance of unstructured data and knowledge assets, including taxonomy, ontology, and knowledge classification frameworks.
  • Partner with Risk, Legal, and Technology teams to support data usage controls, access governance, and responsible AI and GenAI initiatives.
  • Prepare governance reporting, scorecards, and KPI dashboards to track adoption, data quality, and risk reduction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including CCPA, GLBA, ERISA, and SEC and FINRA records requirements.
  • Experience with metadata management, data cataloging, and lineage tools, including Collibra or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, observability tools, and issue management processes.
  • Understanding of knowledge management concepts, including taxonomy and unstructured data governance.
  • Experience implementing governance policies, standards, and controls in operational environments.
  • Ability to analyze data, produce governance metrics, and develop scorecards and dashboards.
  • Proficiency with SQL and familiarity with data platforms such as Snowflake, including governance features such as tagging and access controls.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

  • Experience supporting enterprise data governance programs in regulated industries, preferably financial services.
  • Exposure to AI governance, model risk management, or responsible AI practices., For remote and hybrid positions you will be required to provide reliable high-speed internet with a wired connection as well as a place in your home to work with limited disruption. You must have reliable connectivity from an internet service provider that is fiber, cable or DSL internet. Other necessary computer equipment, will be provided. You may be required to work in the office if you do not have an adequate home work environment and the required internet connection.

Base Salary Range $125,400.00 - $181,875.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
