Cyber Data Protection/PKI Specialist Senior Consultant

Experteer Overview In this senior consultant role, you help clients strengthen data protection through encryption and PKI strategies, spanning cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments. You will lead design and operation of data protection and certificate management programs, guiding teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions. You will stay ahead of encryption trends and advise on best practices while coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders. This role offers the chance to shape clients’ cyber posture and reduce data risk at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Act as SME and trusted advisor on data protection and encryption requirements for clients * Design, implement, and operate encryption strategies to protect sensitive data across environments * Manage PKI deployments, certificate lifecycle, health monitoring, and secure key management * Lead project execution, communicate progress to clients and leadership, and ensure quality deliverables * Coordinate delivery teams to meet timelines and budget * Stay updated on emerging encryption tech (post-quantum, confidential computing, etc.) and industry trends * Evaluate new tools/solutions to enhance data security * Support strategy, architecture, roadmap, and implementation workstreams Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in relevant field * 5+ years in data protection and information security with related subdomains * 5+ years with PKI concepts (certificates, CAs, RA, CSR, OCSP, CRL, HSM) and key management * 2+ years implementing encryption technologies (DB/file PKI, CLM, TLS) and cloud encryption concepts (BYOK, client/server) * 2+ years developing data protection strategies, roadmaps, and frameworks * 2+ years hands-on experience with one or more data protection technologies * 2+ years CLM platforms experience (AppViewX, Venafi, Keyfactor, DigiCert) * 2+ years cryptographic standards/protocols (TLS/SSL, SSH, S/MIME, code signing, NIST) * 2+ years certificate discovery, inventory, automation, renewal, compliance monitoring * 2+ years cross-functional client workstreams and stakeholder management * 2+ years client-facing skills: requirements gathering, workshops, executive communication * 2+ years leading small teams/workstreams and delivering client-ready outputs * Ability to travel 25-50% * Professional certifications such as CISSP or CISM preferred Key requirements *
