Cyber Data Protection/PKI Specialist Senior Consultant

Experteer Overview As a Senior Consultant on Deloitte’s Cyber team, you will advise clients on data protection, encryption, and PKI strategies to reduce data risks across cloud and on-prem environments. You help design and operate robust cryptography solutions, lead delivery teams, and ensure projects meet scope and timelines. The role spans strategy, architecture, and practical implementation with a focus on emerging technologies and secure key management. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to drive secure data capabilities and client outcomes at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Serve as SME and advisor on data protection, encryption, and secure key management for client deployments * Design, implement, and operate encryption and PKI solutions across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments * Lead and deliver encryption strategy programs, certificate lifecycle management, and health monitoring of PKI infrastructure * Drive project execution, provide client and leadership updates, and ensure high-quality deliverables * Track timelines and budget, manage delivery risk, and report progress * Stay current on encryption tech (post-quantum crypto, confidential computing, secure enclaves, envelope encryption) and industry trends * Evaluate new tools and solutions to enhance data security * Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align solutions with regulatory and risk requirements Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field * 5+ years in data protection and information security (data discovery/classification, DLP, cloud security, encryption, CLM, etc.) * 5+ years with PKI concepts: certificates, CAs, RA, CSR, OCSP, CRL, HSM, key management * 2+ years implementing various encryption technologies and cloud encryption concepts (BYOK, client/server-side encryption) * 2+ years developing data protection strategies, roadmaps, and frameworks * 2+ years hands-on experience with one or more data protection technologies and CLM platforms (AppViewX, Venafi, Keyfactor, DigiCert) * 2+ years experience with cryptographic standards/protocols (TLS/SSL, SSH, S/MIME, code signing, NIST practices) * 2+ years certificate discovery, inventory, automation, renewal, and compliance monitoring * 2+ years supporting strategy, architecture, and implementation workstreams * 2+ years understanding integrations with F5, load balancers, WAFs, Kubernetes, API gateways, and cloud platforms * 2+ years client-facing skills and executive communication * 2+ years leading small teams/workstreams and delivering client-ready outputs * Ability to travel 25-50% Key requirements *
