Job description

  • We design and deliver scalable, secure network infrastructure using Cisco technologies.
  • We implement and manage next-generation firewalls, including policy management, VPNs, and threat prevention.
  • We support and integrate Dell networking and infrastructure solutions.
  • We monitor network performance and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • We troubleshoot complex network and connectivity incidents across multiple layers.
  • We design secure architectures that incorporate segmentation, zero-trust principles, and high availability.
  • We manage and optimise site-to-site and remote access VPNs.
  • We maintain network documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • We support patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of network devices.
  • We participate in change, incident, and problem management processes.
  • We support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • We collaborate closely with infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to support network strategy and transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with proven enterprise networking experience in complex environments.
  • We require strong Cisco networking expertise, including routing, switching, and wireless.
  • We require hands-on experience with Palo Alto and/or Fortinet firewalls.
  • We require experience with VPN technologies and secure remote access.
  • We need a solid understanding of network security principles, including segmentation, zero-trust principles, and high availability.
  • We require experience troubleshooting across multiple network layers.
  • We need familiarity with network monitoring and logging tools.
  • We prefer experience working within ITIL or other structured service environments.
  • We value strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with Dell networking or infrastructure is desirable.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, or Fortinet NSE are desirable.
  • Experience in public sector or other secure environments is desirable.

This is an on-site role with flexibility available after probation, offering a salary of up to £70,000 plus benefits.
