Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you contribute to safeguarding warfighter technology within the Strategic Solutions Security Engineering team. You will implement and validate RMF artifacts, perform vulnerability assessments, and drive security improvements across Linux-based systems and DoD-related environments. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure secure designs and compliant certifications, helping protect critical defense systems. This is a mission-driven opportunity at Collins Aerospace to advance cybersecurity in aerospace engineering. Compensation / Benefits * Develop and maintain RMF artifacts and ATO-related activities * Assess cybersecurity impact of system changes and ensure accreditation * Conduct vulnerability assessments, mitigation planning, and remediation tracking * Implement security improvements through system configuration reviews and best practices * Create cybersecurity requirements and RMF documentation (architecture, data flows, inventories) * Perform STIG implementation and compliance validation using STIG tools * Conduct vulnerability scanning with Tenable.sc and Nessus and coordinate remediation * Provide hands-on Linux administration and cybersecurity support for RHEL and other Linux distributions * Troubleshoot Linux OS issues (networking, services, authentication, SELinux, storage, logs) * Collaborate with engineers, ISSOs, and PMs to integrate cybersecurity requirements into designs * Develop mitigation statements, risk acceptance packages, and RMF assessment documentation * Maintain thorough technical documentation throughout the program lifecycle * Attend to incident response activities and forensic data collection when needed Tasks * Usually requires degree in STEM and 5+ years of experience or advanced degree with 3+ years of experience * Active and transferable Secret security clearance, ability to obtain Top Secret after start * U.S. citizenship required for security clearances * Experience with STIG and RMF processes * Experience with Systems Engineering requirements/specifications * Experience with IA Certification and Accreditation (DoD/DoE) processes and documentation * Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable Security Center, STIG Viewer, SCAP) * Experience with Linux commands and environments Key requirements * Medical, dental, and vision insurance * Three weeks of vacation * 401(k) with employer matching and retirement contributions * Tuition reimbursement * Student loan repayment program * Life insurance and disability coverage
