Job description
Database Architect 2 to support enterprise-wide data architecture initiatives with a strong focus on Master Data Management (MDM), Data Catalog, Data Governance, metadata, data lineage, and AI readiness. Key Responsibilities Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models Lead enterprise data architecture and modeling initiatives Support MDM, Data Catalog, metadata, data lineage, and governance Work with Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or Alation Develop and maintain data dictionaries, taxonomies, ontologies, and business glossaries Support data quality, classification, security, and governance standards Design semantic/context layers to support AI/ML and Generative AI Integrate catalogs with BI and ETL/ELT pipelines Develop APIs for metadata harvesting and automation Support AWS and Azure data platforms Facilitate architecture reviews, documentation, training, and knowledge transfer
Requirements
7+ years as an Enterprise Database Architect, including MDM/Data Catalog implementation 4+ years of experience with Oracle and SQL Server 4+ years with enterprise Data Catalog platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or Alation 3+ years with AI/ML technologies and semantic/context layers 3+ years with AWS and Azure data technologies 3+ years in Data Governance, classification, and security 2+ years with data lineage and integration tools such as Informatica or Fivetran 2+ years designing APIs for metadata harvesting, automation, and event-driven integration Preferred Vector databases and feature stores Python scripting Texas State Government experience
