Job description

Experteer Overview In this role, you design and operate data-driven Python services powering how Microsoft engineers understand productivity. You join the Engineering Thrive Insights team, shaping data products like ThriveIQ and Data Flywheel to improve developer experience at scale. You’ll apply data engineering, AI tooling, and privacy-by-design practices to deliver measurable value to engineers and product teams. You’ll work cross-functionally to address security, reliability, and maintainability, with a strong impact on how Microsoft ships software. Compensation / Benefits * Collaborate with product managers, privacy/security experts, and tech leads to translate customer needs into feature designs * Incorporate customer insights and feedback into designs and fixes with minimal supervision * Advocate for security and privacy needs of end users throughout feature development * Create and maintain extensible, high-quality code with attention to diagnosability and maintainability * Apply modern coding patterns and GenAI-enabled approaches to code organization and clarity * Escalate blockers and propose strategies to address delays with minimal supervision * Contribute to tooling improvements for developer productivity and reusability of OSS and internal code * Use AI tools across the SDLC responsibly and review AI-generated changes before deployment * Act as DRI on-call for monitoring system/service health, communicating status, and restoring services within SLA * Identify opportunities to reuse or create tools to support product features and efficiency * Develop awareness of tools outside current scope to broaden capability Tasks * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience * Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements including Microsoft Cloud Background Check Key requirements *
