IT Engineer - Wire Payment Application

The IT Engineer - Wire Payment Applications will support and enhance critical payment platforms, with responsibility for production stability, engineering improvements, integrations, and operational excellence. The engineer will work closely with Product, Operations, Infrastructure, and vendor teams to ensure payment systems remain reliable, secure, and compliant while supporting modernization initiatives., * Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across applications, batch processing, file transfers, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.

• Perform root cause analysis and implement remediation to improve resiliency and reduce recurring incidents.
• Implement application enhancements, fixes, and automation to improve performance and operational efficiency.
• Support integrations with internal systems and external networks/vendors using APIs, SFTP, and batch processing.
• Maintain interfaces between payment applications and upstream/downstream systems, including core systems, digital channels, fraud/AML, GL, and data platforms.
• Execute releases, deployments, and configuration changes following SDLC and change-management processes.
• Support system, integration, and UAT testing, including data setup, validation, and defect resolution.
• Ensure adherence to security, risk, and compliance standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Support platform modernization initiatives, including ISO 20022 adoption, cloud migration, microservices enablement, and API modernization.

• 3-5+ years of experience engineering wire payment systems.
• Experience with middleware/API platforms, observability tools, and scripting/automation.
• Experience with file-based integrations, including SFTP, PGP, and batch schedules.
• Experience with API-based integrations, including REST/SOAP and middleware/orchestration.
• SQL experience, including queries, joins, stored procedures, and performance fundamentals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across application and infrastructure environments.
• Cloud or hybrid environment experience with Azure and/or AWS.
• Strong communication skills and ability to operate effectively under time pressure.
