Experteer Overview In this Senior Design Engineer I role, you own end-to-end mechanical design for outdoor power equipment, from concept through production. You will lead design decisions, ensure manufacturability and reliability, and collaborate with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and suppliers to deliver production-ready designs. You’ll perform trade-off analyses and structured problem solving to resolve issues and drive robust performance. This position offers impact across design, validation, and ramp-up, with a focus on value, safety, and regulatory compliance. Compensation / Benefits * Own end-to-end mechanical design for components, sub-assemblies, or systems from concept to production release * Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and specifications for performance, safety, and manufacturability * Perform design trade-off analyses and document rationale for decisions * Apply structured problem solving to design issues, field failures, and manufacturing concerns * Ensure designs are optimized for high-volume manufacturing, tooling, and supplier constraints * Collaborate with Sourcing and suppliers on processes, tooling concepts, and cost drivers early in development * Support value engineering initiatives without sacrificing quality or performance * Define DFMEA inputs and mitigation strategies; execute design verification plans and durability testing * Review engineering changes, deviations, and corrective actions for owned designs * Translate customer needs into engineering requirements with Product Management; assist pilot builds, PPAP, and ramp-up with issue resolution * Support certifications, audits, and failure investigations with Quality and Compliance teams * Contribute to design standards, test methods, and engineering processes Tasks * Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline * Minimum 5 years of design experience in consumer, industrial, or electromechanical products * Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T (Creo / SolidWorks / NX or equivalent) with detailed drawings * Experience with materials, manufacturing processes, tooling, and supplier-built components * Experience leading design verification and validation activities using data-driven methods * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills * Comfortable in a fast-paced, results-driven product development environment Key requirements *
