Microsoft Excel Data Systems Software Tools Data Management

Job description

This role supports a major logistics provider in Brussels as they modernize their internal data systems and project management structures. You will help bridge the gap between financial assumptions and project execution, ensuring that digital milestones translate into real commercial value within a fully remote team structure. About Blue Oak Consulting Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P&L complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. We work across sectors like software, manufacturing, and healthcare to test whether the assumptions behind a growth plan or an acquisition actually hold under pressure. We are a small, principal led firm where the people who do the work are the ones accountable for the results. We do not take transaction contingent fees, which allows us to be completely honest about whether the economics of a decision make sense. Our goal is to provide clarity through financial discipline and a healthy amount of skepticism. We stay through the execution phase because decisions that look sound in theory often fail when they meet real world friction., As a Junior Digital Project Coordinator, you will provide the organizational and analytical support necessary to keep complex projects moving forward. You will work closely with senior advisors to monitor the progress of our engagement with a large logistics provider, focusing on how their digital investments align with their financial goals. This is a fully remote position that requires a high level of personal discipline and a knack for spotting inconsistencies in data. You will not be making slide decks for the sake of it. Instead, you will be checking numbers, updating project trackers, and making sure that the project documentation reflects the reality of the work being done. What You Will Be Doing

  • Maintaining project timelines and ensuring all documentation is current and accurate.
  • Collecting data from the logistics provider to help our team test their financial assumptions.
  • Monitoring project budgets and capital allocation to identify potential overruns or inefficiencies.
  • Organizing and documenting the results of weekly technical and financial reviews.
  • Updating simple financial models in Excel to reflect new project data or changing market conditions.
  • Assisting in the preparation of clear, data backed status reports for the principal advisors.
  • Identifying gaps in information that could prevent a project milestone from being reached.
  • Ensuring all project files and client data are organized logically for easy team access.
  • Communicating daily with the team to provide updates on work streams and upcoming deadlines.

Requirements

  • A university degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • A high level of comfort using Microsoft Excel for data organization and basic analysis.
  • The ability to write clearly and concisely without relying on corporate jargon.
  • A curious mindset that leads you to ask why a number looks a certain way.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple small tasks simultaneously.
  • The self discipline to work effectively in a 100 percent remote environment.
  • Basic familiarity with project management concepts or software tools.
  • A professional skepticism that helps you look for facts rather than accepting surface level explanations.
  • Willingness to learn the specific economic drivers of the logistics and transportation sector.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive pay that is attractive for an entry level position in the consulting market.
  • Direct access to senior principals, providing a significant learning opportunity.
  • Professional development focused on real world financial analysis and project control.
  • A work environment that values technical accuracy over political maneuvering.
  • The chance to work on high stakes projects for a major international logistics company.
  • A culture that respects your time and focuses on the quality of work produced.

About the company

Working at Blue Oak Consulting means focusing on the details that others often overlook. We pride ourselves on being the firm that tells the truth, even when it is uncomfortable for the client. As a project coordinator, you are the first line of defense in maintaining the integrity of our data and the reliability of our project plans. You will gain a deep understanding of how large organizations allocate capital and the friction that occurs when digital plans meet operational reality. We look for people who are ready to do the work and who find satisfaction in seeing a project run with precision and clarity.
