Job description
We are seeking a Junior AI Automation Developer to support our advisory team as we work on a significant project for our partner in Berlin. This role focuses on translating our commercial advisory methodologies into automated workflows that help us understand the ground reality of complex investment decisions. As a remote member of the team, you will build tools that allow our partners to access real-time data on counterparties and market behaviors more efficiently. We prioritize commercial judgment over theoretical reports, and your work will ensure that the evidence we provide to clients is both accurate and timely. What you will do
- Develop scripts to automate the collection of data from public records and commercial databases for investment analysis.
- Create internal tools that help senior advisors synthesize research on sovereign entities and family groups.
- Build simple interfaces for partners to interact with gathered data during the preparation of client positions.
- Audit and refine automated research processes to ensure the accuracy of the facts we present in high stakes negotiations.
- Support the technical side of scenario work by building models that reflect how competitors might act in a given market.
- Help document the logic behind our automation to ensure that all team members understand how data is sourced and processed.
- Collaborate with our research associates to identify repetitive manual tasks that can be simplified through small scale coding solutions.
Requirements
- A foundational understanding of scripting languages like Python or JavaScript for basic task automation.
- Strong logical reasoning and the ability to break down complex research questions into structured data requirements.
- Clear writing skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical partners and clients.
- An interest in how commercial decisions are made, particularly in environments where state and private capital interact.
- High attention to detail when verifying data quality and the reliability of automated outputs.
- The discipline to work effectively in a fully remote capacity while maintaining consistent communication with the team.
- Basic experience with APIs or web scraping techniques gained through personal projects or university coursework.
Benefits & conditions
What we offer
- The flexibility of a fully remote role that values your time and focus over physical presence.
- A competitive salary that is attractive for an entry-level position within the professional services market.
- Direct exposure to the work of senior partners and the decision-making processes of chief executives.
- The opportunity to apply technical skills to tangible commercial outcomes rather than abstract or theoretical models.
Working at Gulf Associates We prioritize commercial judgment over standard consultancy templates. Our firm works in a specific logic where outcomes are settled in the room during negotiations, not on a distant spreadsheet. This means our culture is direct, honest, and focused on reality. We do not value output for its own sake: we value work that supports a client in taking an actual step forward. Because we keep a small book of active engagements, every team member is close to the core of the work. You will see how your code contributes to the final position we present to a sovereign entity or a major family group. We expect our team members to be comfortable being measured by the results of our advice and the accuracy of the data we provide to those who depend on us.
