Job description
The Software Tester .Net in Columbus, OH is responsible for designing, performing, and supporting software testing activities within the .Net environment. This role involves system analysis, test execution, quality assurance, and collaboration with IT and business teams to ensure software applications meet required standards and function correctly throughout the development lifecycle. Responsibilities:
- Design and perform system analysis and application testing.
- Support user acceptance testing and software implementation tasks including source control and deployment.
- Assist in developing and monitoring IT quality assurance standards and testing procedures.
- Develop software testing and automation procedures; perform analysis and design.
- Work with business personnel to identify and document software requirements.
- Define problems and develop potential solutions related to software applications.
- Perform post-production support including maintenance, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with software security scans and report vulnerabilities.
- Support performance testing and benchmarking of software application response times.
- Communicate and collaborate proactively with peers, technical staff, and business personnel.
- Lead discussions and meetings on technical topics related to software development.
- Provide informal mentorship and technical guidance to peers and junior staff.
- Utilize Azure DevOps for documentation, task management, and iterative development collaboration.
- Apply understanding of Agile, Iterative, and Traditional SDLC practices related to testing activities.
Requirements
- Experience in software testing within a .Net environment.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies including Agile and Iterative.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for documentation and task management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform system analysis and develop test plans and automation procedures.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with software security scanning and vulnerability reporting.
- Background in performance testing and benchmarking software applications.
- Knowledge of traditional software development and quality assurance standards.
- Mentorship or leadership experience in software testing environments.
Special Considerations:
- Must be able to collaborate proactively and communicate effectively across teams.
- Role may require post-production support and troubleshooting activities.
Benefits & conditions
Scheduling:
- Regular shift from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
- Contract duration of 12+ months with possibility of extension.
