Job description
The team you’ll be working with: We are seeking an experienced Application Management Services (AMS) Lead to join NTT DATA UK&I, with a primary focus on UK public sector clients. This is a senior, client-facing role that sits at the intersection of pre-sales, solution design, transition and delivery governance.
This role reports into the Head of the AMS for UK and will be part of the Global Apps & BPS practice. You will play a key role in shaping, winning and assuring the delivery of AMS engagements across the public sector.
Due to the nature of public sector work, the successful candidate must either hold or beeligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
What you’ll be doing: Pre-Sales & Business Development
Act as the AMS subject matter expert for public sector opportunitiesSupport qualification of AMS opportunities in collaboration with sales and account teamsLead responses to RFIs, RFPs and ITTs, including written responses and bid reviewsDesign AMS solutions covering: Service scope and support models (L2/L3)Operating models (onshore/offshore/nearshore)Tooling, automation and service managementSecurity, compliance and public sector standardsDevelop cost models, estimates and pricing aligned to commercial and margin targetsPresent solutions to clients, lead solution walkthroughs and support commercial negotiations
Transition & Operating Model Setup
Work closely with delivery teams to: Mobilise and transition new AMS engagementsDefine service governance, SLAs, KPIs and reportingEstablish service management processes (ITIL-aligned)Ensure operating models meet public sector requirements, including data protection, security and compliance
Delivery Assurance & Governance
Provide ongoing delivery assurance across AMS engagementsChair or support service governance forums with clientsAct as an escalation point for service, commercial or delivery risksEnsure contractual commitments, SLAs and outcomes are consistently met
Resource & Capability Management
Support resource planning and mobilisation for AMS engagementsWork with delivery leadership to identify skills gaps and capability needsContribute to the development of reusable AMS assets, accelerators and best practices, We are an equal opportunities employer. Requirements
Significant experience in Application Management Services / Managed Services rolesExtensive experience working with UK public sector clients (central government, local government, health or arms-length bodies)Holding or Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes (RFI, RFP, ITT frameworks)Proven experience in: AMS solutioning and estimationPre-sales support and bid leadershipService transition and mobilisationDelivery governance and assuranceDemonstrated ability to operate comfortably at multiple levels, from CxO stakeholders to L2/L3 engineersAbility to adapt communication style to suit technical, operational and executive audiencesSolid knowledge of ITIL-based service management principlesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including senior client presentationsStrong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Desirable
Experience operating within UK public sector frameworks (e.g. G-Cloud, DOS, Technology Services frameworks)Familiarity with application landscapes including: ERP (e.g. SAP, Oracle)Bespoke and COTS applications (e.g. Salesforce, MS Dynamics)Integration and middleware platformsExperience with service management tools (e.g. ServiceNow)Experience working in a matrixed or global delivery model
