IT Technician

Thompson Holdings is seeking an IT Technician to join our team. Primary responsibilities of this role are supporting day-to-day operations, end user support, and some server management.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure hardware and software components

• End user computer imaging, configuration, and set up

• Provide help desk support to end users to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently

• Open and/or close trouble tickets on each call received

• Escalate problems and requests as necessary to ensure positive resolution

• Work closely with members of the IT team to troubleshoot network and systems issues, as well as respond to potential cyber threats

• Create, modify, and/or delete user and email accounts

• Perform routine maintenance on various IT equipment

• Mobile device support - tablets, smartphones, etc.

• Cabling installation and termination

• Maintain an increasing level of proficiency in hardware, software, networking and other technologies supported by the IT department

• Other duties, as assigned

• Occasional travel to branch and project offices

• Occasional after hours and weekend work

• Document and follow procedures and user guides

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment as needed

Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment, High school diploma or equivalent

• 1 - 3 years of experience in similar role

• Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy

• Microsoft Cloud technology experience is a plus

• Experience troubleshooting systems

• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems

• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
