Job description

About the Team The Datacenter Operations team at Nutanix is dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation and management of our data center facilities. This team operates in multiple locations, including Reno and Phoenix, and is characterized by a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. The mission of the team is to maintain operational excellence while integrating new technologies into our infrastructure, making it a vital part of Nutanix’s overall strategy for growth and customer satisfaction. You will report to the Sr Manager of Support Readiness, who values proactive communication and fosters an environment where team members are encouraged to take ownership of their work. The role is fully on-site and requires you to work approximately 40-45 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, in a fixed schedule that allows for slight adjustments once established. This position may involve occasional travel, ranging from 0 to 25% depending on business needs, such as participation in important projects or internal meetings. However, it is expected that travel will generally trend closer to 0% in normal business operations. Your Role

  • Monitor data center operations and check for emergent alerts through monitoring platforms.
  • Perform rack and stack installations, ensuring proper power and asset management.
  • Perform troubleshooting and in-depth repairs of hardware and hypervisor issues, following documented processes.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with the datacenter capacity team and R&D personnel.
  • Work within our Las Vegas site through cabling, monitoring, and team building activities.
  • Provide expertise and knowledge about GPU hardware deployments
  • Assist as part of a team of on-site contacts for our Networking, Automation, and Capacity team

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data center operations or related field.
  • 3+ years of GPU-dense installations and maintenance
  • Proficient in asset management and infrastructure monitoring systems.
  • Strong coordination skills for managing complex tasks autonomously.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (which may exceed 100 lbs) with assistance.
  • Experience following documented processes to provide hardware and logistic troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with data center tools, office productivity software, and ticket management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and grow through on the job training
  • Integrity and strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Benefits & conditions

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $82,000 - $164,000 However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
