Join the Department of Transportation as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 and help support safe and efficient maintenance operations across Pike County. This role gives you the chance to work with important roadway data and assist in planning tasks that keep highways in good condition. As a Roadway Programs Technician 1, you will perform the following duties:

Data Management:Enter, review, and analyze roadway and materials data to support maintenance planning

Inventory Tracking:Monitor material quantities, process load slips, and maintain accurate inventory records

Contract Oversight:Coordinate with contractors, verify completed work, and ensure proper documentation

Field Reviews:Visit sites to gather information, inspect guiderail damage, and document roadway conditions

Customer Service:Communicate with internal staff, contractors, and the public to address questions and concerns

Safety Support:Follow safety protocols and assist with reporting hazards and accidents

Requirements
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ;or

One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent;or
-
An Associateâs Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program;or
-
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree., Do you possess at least one year of full-time experience in the analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment?, How many years of full-time paraprofessional-level experience in the fields of business administration, computer science, highway engineering technology, or a closely related field do you possess?, Do you possess an associateâs degree or higher in one of the following majors: Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology, or a closely related field?
