Job description

Bolt Staffing is seeking an experienced Network Administrator for a 6-month temporary assignment in San Francisco. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional with strong LAN/WAN, network hardware, cabling, and troubleshooting experience., * Install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to network switching, routing, and wireless equipment

  • Monitor WAN connections and assist with network performance and connectivity issues
  • Conduct analog, digital, and protocol testing of data communication channels
  • Reconfigure and adjust communication systems as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of network nodes, locations, configurations, and communication links
  • Work directly with users to identify needs, troubleshoot problems, and provide support
  • Instruct users on network and data communication systems when needed
  • Provide first-level support for Cisco VOIP and analog phone tickets
  • Install cabling as needed
  • Stay current on changes in network and data communications technology
  • Recommend improvements to network hardware, software, and related systems
  • Maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and others
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance

Requirements

Do you have experience in Writing skills?, Do you have a Trade school?, The Network Administrator will support network switching, routing, wireless equipment, data communications systems, and end-user technical needs. This position requires strong technical ability, professionalism, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users., * Two years of college or technical school training in information systems, networking, network technologies, or a related field, * Equivalent technical experience in hardware, software, and network installation/maintenance may be substituted year-for-year

  • At least two years of related experience installing, repairing, and troubleshooting LAN and WAN equipment
  • Experience with wiring, routers, switches, cabling, and physical-layer troubleshooting
  • Experience with Hewlett Packard network switches
  • Hands-on experience with personal computer applications

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Microsoft operating systems, including Windows Server 2012 and Windows 7
  • Microsoft Exchange 2013
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, and Netscalers
  • Next Generation Firewalls and Firepower Services
  • Proxy servers, firewalls, mail spam servers, and VPN servers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualified candidates should have working knowledge of:

  • LAN, WAN, and related data communication systems
  • Hardware, software, networking protocols, fiber optics, and peripheral equipment
  • LAN switch and router management through telnet and web interfaces
  • Router protocols and setup
  • TCP/IP communication
  • VLAN technology
  • Basic Cisco IOS commands
  • Basic Nexus OS command line
  • Tools and equipment used for installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of voice/data networks
  • Recordkeeping practices and procedures
  • Learning new software, applications, databases, and hardware through training and self-study

Successful candidates must be able to:

  • Prioritize competing requests and manage multiple tasks
  • Organize schedules to meet business needs
  • Explain technical information clearly to non-technical users
  • Prepare clear reports, documentation, and correspondence
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Work productively with employees, vendors, consultants, public agencies, and customers
  • Follow applicable safety and health rules and safe work practices

$40 - $48 an hour - Temporary, Full-time
