Job description

As an Intermediate Gameplay Engineer, you will develop and maintain gameplay systems, technical features, and game content that support a polished player experience. You will work closely with engineers, designers, artists, and QA to deliver reliable solutions, contribute to procedural world and content systems, and support development across relevant game-engine and custom-engine environments., 1. Gameplay and Systems Development:

  • Develop and maintain gameplay features, player movement, and supporting game systems in line with design and technical requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve bugs, ensuring fixes are robust, maintainable, and appropriately tested. 2. Procedural Content and Technical Research:
  • Contribute to procedural world and content-generation systems, supporting flexible, scalable, and performant game content.
  • Research and evaluate technical approaches, tools, and implementation options to help resolve project challenges. 3. Engine and Technical Development:
  • Work across relevant engine and custom-engine environments to implement and maintain technical features.
  • Support core technical development, system integrations, and the ongoing improvement of existing game systems. 4. Collaboration and Quality:
  • Collaborate with design, art, QA, and engineering colleagues to translate requirements into practical and high-quality technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience developing gameplay features, player movement, technical systems, or game content within a game-development environment.
  • Strong familiarity with modern game-engine and custom-engine development workflows.
  • Understanding of procedural worlds, content generation, and scalable gameplay systems.
  • Ability to investigate, debug, and resolve technical issues methodically.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Clear communication skills and an effective, collaborative approach to working across disciplines.
