Job description
As a Senior UI and Gameplay Engineer, you will develop polished player-facing features across user interface, gameplay, animation, networking, and supporting game systems. You will work hands-on to deliver responsive and maintainable functionality for a multiplayer live game, collaborating closely with design, art, audio, QA, and engineering teams to improve both new features and existing player experiences., 1. UI and Gameplay Development:
- Design, implement, and maintain high-quality UI and gameplay features that are intuitive, responsive, and aligned with player and design needs.
- Build systems that connect interface flows with gameplay functionality, progression, player interactions, and game-state management. 2. Live Content and Technical Prototyping:
- Support the rapid prototyping, implementation, and iteration of features, content updates, and player-experience improvements.
- Work effectively within an evolving live-development environment, ensuring new functionality integrates cleanly with established systems. 3. Animation, Audio, and Networking Integration:
- Integrate gameplay features with animation, audio, networking, and other core technical systems.
- Investigate and resolve issues affecting responsiveness, synchronisation, performance, and overall player experience. 4. Performance, Quality, and Team Contribution:
- Profile and optimise UI, gameplay, and supporting systems to maintain performance and quality across supported platforms.

Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience developing both UI and gameplay systems in a game-development environment.
- Experience working with multiplayer networking, animation, audio integration, and player-facing features.
- Strong familiarity with relevant game-engine, custom-engine, and rapid-prototyping workflows.
- Ability to develop, debug, and optimise scalable systems for an evolving live game.
- Good technical judgement, problem-solving ability, and attention to player experience and maintainability.
- Clear communication skills and an effective, collaborative approach to working across disciplines.
