Job description

We’re looking for a strong C# developer to join a Front-to-Back FX technology team, building and improving the systems traders and business users rely on every day for deal capture and post-trade processing. This is a hands-on development role within a small team supporting Tier 1, business-critical systems - the kind where your code is in production affecting live trading activity, not sitting in a backlog.

You’ll be developing new functionality to support deal capture and post-trade workflows, refactoring existing code to improve reliability and releasability, and working closely with traders and front-line support to respond quickly when things need fixing or changing. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing new functionality for business users, focused on deal capture and post-trade activity
  • Building and maintaining REST/ASP.NET web services and the applications and UI layers that sit on top of them
  • Refactoring and improving the releasability of existing systems
  • Responding quickly to changing trader requirements and issues escalated from front-line support
  • Owning the full software development life cycle for your work, from design through to deployment
  • Contributing directly to the architecture and design decisions of the systems you work on
  • Working confidently and directly with business users to understand and shape requirements

Requirements

  • Strong, hands-on C# developer with a proven track record of delivery on live, business-critical systems
  • Detailed knowledge of the systems you’ve built - not just used - including having shaped their architecture and design
  • Strong communication and analytical skills; comfortable interacting directly with business stakeholders
  • A flexible, responsive approach to work, suited to a Tier 1 support environment
  • Solid grounding in good software design patterns and practices
  • Full SDLC experience

Technical Environment

  • C#/.NET 8
  • IIS-based REST/ASP.NET web services
  • NUnit
  • TeamCity, Jenkins
  • Python
