Job description

Universidad Europea is seeking a Researcher Support Assistant to join the SIC-UEM Research Group and contribute to research and innovation activities within the framework of the reserarch project PDC2025-165871-C33, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU) and the State Research Agency (AEI)

The project focuses on the development of innovative solutions based on Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Transport Systems, Data Analytics and Computer Vision, with the aim of advancing research and technological development in these fields.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will collaborate in:

  • Developing algorithms for control centres capable of processing contextual information and anticipating potential Operational Design Domain (ODD) exit situations, reducing the need for human intervention.
  • Extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) data from heterogeneous sources.
  • Designing, implementing and maintaining databases.
  • Applying Artificial Intelligence techniques to Intelligent Transport Systems.
  • Performing data mining, machine learning and data analysis tasks.
  • Processing images using computer vision techniques.
  • Developing, maintaining and improving software associated with project activities.

Research Environment and Career Development

The selected candidate will become part of the SIC-UEM Research Group and work in a multidisciplinary and collaborative research environment.

  • Spanish: Native or bilingual proficiency (mandatory).

  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Data Analytics.

  • Native or bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
  • English level B2 or higher.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Specific Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Advance programming skills in Python and C++.
  • Knowledge of OpenCV and image processing techniques.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Native or bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English level B2 or higher.
  • Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Data Analytics.
