SAP RTR General Accounting Consultant

Kforce has a client in Chicago, IL that is seeking an SAP Record-to-Report (RTR)/General Accounting Consultant to support SAP finance implementation, migration, and transformation initiatives. Summary: This role serves as a subject matter expert across general accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial data migration, reconciliation, and reporting while partnering with business, functional, and technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:

• Support SAP Finance implementation, migration, and transformation activities within the Record-to-Report (RTR) workstream
• Provide expertise in general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, accruals, fixed assets, and period-end/year-end close processes
• Execute data mapping, cleansing, validation, and conversion activities to ensure accurate financial data migration
• Perform reconciliations between source systems and SAP to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Support cutover planning, go-live readiness, and post-deployment stabilization
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, IT, and SAP functional teams to resolve data quality issues
• Support system testing, including unit testing, SIT, UAT, and defect resolution
• Analyze and troubleshoot financial process issues, escalating risks as needed
• Develop process documentation, test scripts, reconciliation procedures, and training materials
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting standards
• Support financial reporting validation within SAP

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in SAP Finance, General Accounting, or Record-to-Report processes
• Experience supporting SAP implementations, migrations, or transformation programs
• Strong understanding of GL, journal processing, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Experience with data migration, mapping, cleansing, and reconciliation activities
• Experience supporting testing activities and resolving system/data defects
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis tools, * CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting certification
• SAP Finance certification
• Experience with SAP Data Services, Migration Cockpit, or similar tools
• Large-scale ERP transformation experience in global organizations
• Knowledge of financial controls and regulatory compliance standards

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
