System Engineer Virtualization

We are currently supporting a leading organization in the legal and public services sector in their search for a Senior Virtualization & Storage System Engineer. You will join a highly skilled IT environment responsible for delivering secure, large-scale digital platforms used by professionals and citizens across the country. Your Role As a Virtualization & Storage System Engineer, you will be responsible for the management, optimization, and evolution of critical infrastructure systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and data protection., Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for virtualization and backup platforms Design, manage, and maintain virtualization environments (Nutanix AHV, VMware) Implement and maintain high-availability and clustering solutions Define and manage backup strategies (SLA, RPO, RTO) Configure backup policies, retention, restore processes, and reporting Manage archiving and long-term data retention Automate provisioning and operational tasks (scripting & deployment) Monitor and optimize performance, capacity, and storage usage Contribute to Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) and testing scenarios Handle incidents and communicate clearly in case of SLA breaches Document processes and ensure knowledge sharing across teams Technical Environment Nutanix AHV & VMware vSphere Backup & data protection solutions SAN & storage technologies Windows Server environments Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) Monitoring & reporting tools

Minimum 7 years of experience in virtualization/system engineering At least 2 years in a senior or lead role Strong expertise in virtualization platforms and backup solutions Solid understanding of storage and infrastructure environments Experience with automation and scripting Analytical mindset with a proactive approach Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills Team player with good communication abilities Fluent in English and Dutch or French (with passive understanding of the other) Assignment Details
