Technical Applications Manager

We are seeking an experienced Technical Applications Manager to join our client’s UK IT function, taking responsibility for the stable, secure and compliant operation of centrally provided business applications within the local market.

The successful candidate will act as the primary technical contact for HQ applications, working closely with central IT teams, vendors, technical specialists and local business stakeholders to ensure applications meet local business, technical and regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on coordination and application management role, suited to someone with strong technical application experience who is confident managing stakeholders, resolving escalations and driving service improvements., * Act as the local technical contact and owner for centrally provided applications within your area of responsibility.

• Represent the local market in discussions with HQ/central IT teams regarding applications, technical issues, functionality and support.
• Ensure the reliable, secure and compliant operation of applications in accordance with local requirements and regulations.
• Work collaboratively with HQ IT, local business teams and relevant IT specialists to ensure application functionality meets local market needs.
• Maintain accurate and complete technical documentation and support materials for local IT teams and end users.
• Coordinate the escalation of critical technical and access issues to HQ IT teams or external vendors, involving appropriate technical specialists where required.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement in application support processes and application performance.
• Work closely with vendors, business users, procurement, service desk and other IT stakeholders to ensure effective application support and service delivery.
• Ensure all relevant company policies, compliance requirements, security and data protection standards are adhered to.

• Strong understanding of technical application management and the integration of centrally provided/HQ applications into local IT environments.
• Good knowledge of IT security, compliance and data protection requirements.
• Proven experience collaborating with HQ/central IT teams, vendors and cross-functional business stakeholders.
• Strong ability to produce and maintain clear technical documentation and support materials.
• Excellent analytical, coordination and escalation-management skills.
• Experience with application performance, service improvement and optimisation.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A structured and proactive approach to application support, issue resolution and continuous improvement.

The Person

You will be an experienced IT applications professional who is comfortable taking ownership of technical issues and coordinating their resolution across multiple teams.

You will be confident acting as the link between a local business environment and central/HQ IT teams, ensuring local requirements are understood while maintaining alignment with global application standards.

The role would suit someone with a background in Technical Applications Management, Application Support, IT Service Management, Business Systems or Technical Support, ideally gained within a medium to large or multi-site organisation.
