Job description

  • Develop, maintain, and execute test scripts, including debugging and root-cause analysis
  • Plan and execute functional tests, including the definition of test specifications and requirements traceability
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, FPGA, software, verification, systems, and quality engineering teams to achieve the project’s technical, quality, and management objectives
  • Depending on your experience and skill set, contribute to flight software development, including requirements implementation, software component design, coding, unit testing, and technical documentation
  • Participate in and support peer reviews and code reviews, as well as software debugging and troubleshooting
  • Opportunity to grow into a Lead Software Engineer role and take on increasing responsibility within flight software projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a comparable field
  • Practical experience in embedded software development, ideally within the space industry
  • Strong proficiency in C and solid knowledge of software engineering principles and development processes
  • Experience with real-time embedded operating systems, real-time software development, unit testing tools, embedded processor simulators, and scripting languages; knowledge of ECSS-E-ST-40C, ECSS-Q-ST-80C, and relevant coding standards is a plus
  • A structured, independent, and responsible approach to work, combined with strong quality awareness and the ability to understand the bigger picture and contribute to the successful integration of your work into the overall product
  • Excellent written and spoken English and german. A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across different engineering disciplines
