Job description

Seeking for an experienced IT Asset / Technical Support Specialist to provide comprehensive IT asset management and hands-on technical support across statewide operations. This position will manage hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycle while providing end-user support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, software, and network connectivity. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM), ITSM tools, hardware/software support, inventory management, Windows environments, Active Directory, and field technical support., * Manage the complete lifecycle of IT hardware and software assets from acquisition and deployment through maintenance and secure decommissioning.

  • Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory within the IT Asset Management Database (AMDB/CMDB).
  • Track asset assignments, locations, configurations, lifecycle status, and refresh schedules.
  • Manage software assets, including license utilization, license requests, renewals, and compliance.
  • Identify unused or underutilized licenses and help prevent unnecessary over-licensing.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation to support software licensing and vendor audits.
  • Partner with fiscal and procurement teams on technology purchases, contracts, renewals, and vendor relationships.
  • Assist with hardware and software pricing and procurement activities.
  • Establish and maintain ITAM policies, approval processes, and asset-tracking workflows.
  • Manage technical support requests through online ticketing and documentation systems.
  • Provide end-user technical support for Windows desktops and laptops and iOS/Android mobile devices.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software.
  • Provide onsite field support and troubleshoot device imaging, LAN connectivity, and other technical issues.
  • Support Windows 11 and Active Directory environments.
  • Utilize remote monitoring and management tools to troubleshoot and support endpoints.
  • Work with network monitoring/discovery, antivirus, and security tools.
  • Generate recurring reports covering asset utilization, costs, compliance risks, software licensing, and lifecycle refresh requirements.
  • Maintain accurate system configurations, support documentation, and resolution details.
  • Work independently at remote locations while coordinating with the broader IT team.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to both technical and non-technical end users.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Help Desk or Field Technician support.
  • 3+ years of end-user hardware support experience, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • 3+ years of IT Asset Management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with ITSM/ITAM tools.
  • 3+ years of software installation and maintenance experience.
  • Experience managing hardware and software asset lifecycles.
  • Experience maintaining IT asset inventories and AMDB/CMDB records.
  • Experience providing hands-on technical support in Windows environments.
  • Knowledge of Windows 11 and Active Directory administration.
  • Experience supporting iOS and Android devices.
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting and LAN connectivity.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer-service skills with a strong commitment to end-user satisfaction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
