Job description
The University of New Mexico-Valencia is accepting applicants for the position of Sr Fiscal Services Tech to join our Business Operations Department. This position is responsible for purchasing for multiple departments, establishing/maintaining departmental budgets and monitoring expenditures, preparing financial reports and reconciling accounts, ensuring compliance with policies, grants, and State and Federal regulations, maintaining departmental inventory records and coordinating physical inventory, and managing employee access to facilities by processing key card requests. This position also serves as backup for timekeeping, processing adjustments, preparing financial reports and other accounting related duties and may supervise and/or lead lower graded staff and/or student employees.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of fiscal or administrative experience in a higher education environment
- Five or more years of managing and monitoring multiple fund sources in a higher education environment
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with experience maintaining complex financial spreadsheets
- At least one year of experience with Avigilon access control systems or similar platform
- Demonstrated experience cashiering, cash handling, or related financial operations
