Job description

Robert Half is hiring an IT Support Technician to support a client in Austin, Texas. This is a long-term contract position offering an incredible opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring the seamless operation of IT environments., * Provide technical support for Windows and Linux systems, focusing on system upgrades and maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Active Directory and Microsoft Windows environments.
  • Manage service desk tickets efficiently, ensuring timely resolution of user requests and incidents.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for hardware and software issues to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Assist with operating system upgrades, including Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, to enhance security and functionality.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth implementation of system updates and changes.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of processes, configurations, and resolutions for future reference.
  • Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support end users by addressing technical queries and providing training as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Active Directory management and configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows Server systems.
  • Experience with basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with managing service desk tickets and workflows.
  • Understanding of operating system upgrades for Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with users and team members.
