Job description

As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you would be joining a small and friendly Cambridge-based development team. The company is successful and secure - involved in the design and development of leading-edge audio- / video-based products for a range of markets., Keywords: Senior Electronics Engineer, Hardware Design / Development, Future Team Lead, Digital Design, Embedded Microprocessors, FPGAs, DDR SDRAM, Analogue design, Signal Conditioning, Power Supplies, Audio and Video interfacing, HDMI, Embedded uP, Embedded microprocessors. Requirements

You will need an impressive academic background in a relevant subject. As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you should also have extensive hardware design and development experience across the full product lifecycle, concentrating primarily on board-level digital design using embedded microprocessors, FPGAs, and DDR SDRAM. Some experience in analogue design (signal conditioning or power supplies, for example) would be valuable.

Ideally, your skills will also include audio and video interfacing / HDMI. You will also be adept in the use of standard test equipment - and happy even to pick up a soldering iron now and again.

As a Senior Hardware Engineer / Senior Electronics Engineer within a small team, your role will include the full design and development of video- and audio-oriented products for a variety of platforms; investigating and debugging any hardware issues; liaising with third-party manufacturers and the developing new product features. As the role progresses you may also take on leadership responsibilities, guiding and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Due to the nature of the work, the role could involve occasional overseas travel. Any experience in the design and development of set-top box related products would be particularly relevant.
