Job description

A leading technology and consulting organisation is seeking a Security Consultant to join a growing cybersecurity team delivering complex technology and digital transformation programmes across the UK public sector, healthcare, Defence and Central Government.

The role will suit a security professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working directly with clients and applying cybersecurity principles to large-scale technology and transformation programmes.

The successful candidate will work alongside security specialists, architects, technologists and client stakeholders to develop secure solutions, manage cyber risk and help organisations strengthen their overall security posture.

This is an opportunity to work across challenging programmes while gaining exposure to emerging security technologies, different industries and a broad network of technical experts., As a Security Consultant, the successful candidate will:

  • Design and develop security architectures for IT solutions and large-scale digital transformation programmes.
  • Provide cybersecurity advisory services across complex transformation programmes.
  • Translate business, technical and security requirements into practical and effective security solutions.
  • Advise clients on security risk, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Apply recognised security frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR and PCI-DSS.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses within system and solution architectures.
  • Assess security risks and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work with clients and internal stakeholders across multiple disciplines to influence secure solution design.
  • Research emerging technologies and develop innovative approaches to challenging security problems.
  • Contribute to the development of reference architectures and threat models.
  • Support the delivery of secure technology solutions across major public sector and government programmes.

Requirements

The organisation is looking for Security Consultants with a strong foundation in cybersecurity, security architecture and risk management.

Candidates should have experience with:

  • Cybersecurity principles, security architecture and IT risk management.
  • Applying security technologies to enterprise architectures and solution designs.
  • Privileged Access Management (PAM).
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) and Identity and Access Management (IAM/IDAM).
  • Network security and encryption.
  • IT infrastructure, technical concepts and solution design methodologies.
  • Threat modelling and security architecture development.
  • Identifying security vulnerabilities and assessing their potential business and technical impact.
  • Communicating security risks and recommendations to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Working within complex technology or digital transformation environments.

Hands-on experience in network security and/or cloud security would be advantageous., The following would be advantageous:

  • CISSP, SABSA or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
  • Existing UK Government security clearance such as SC or DV.
  • Experience working within UK Government, Defence, healthcare or wider public sector environments.
