Job description

We’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer to build the internal “AI brain” that powers how Sedrus operates - a connected system of agents, workflows, internal tools, and automations spanning GTM, CRM, recruiting, and company operations.

This is a hands-on engineering role. We aren’t looking for someone to experiment with prompts or build demos; we’re looking for someone who can identify high-leverage workflows and ship reliable systems that eliminate manual work.

What You’ll Do

You’ll design and build internal AI-powered systems that connect tools, company data, and LLMs into reliable workflows. You’ll:

  • Build an internal CRM and the automation layer around it.
  • Create GTM agents that automate call preparation, capture information from meetings, draft follow-ups, and keep pipeline data current.
  • Connect tools such as Granola, Notion, email, calendars, and other internal systems so information automatically flows to the right place.
  • Build recruiting agents that streamline sourcing, candidate research, screening, interview workflows, and administrative work.
  • Identify repetitive work across the company and turn it into automated workflows.
  • Design agentic systems that combine LLM reasoning with deterministic software and human approval where appropriate.
  • Build evaluation, observability, and failure-handling mechanisms so AI workflows can be trusted in production.
  • Work directly with leadership to identify what should be automated rather than waiting for detailed specifications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally across backend or full-stack systems.
  • Strong experience building production applications with APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic or automation systems.
  • Experience with tools/frameworks such as n8n, Zapier, LangChain, LangGraph, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of structured outputs, tool/function calling, retrieval, context management, and LLM evaluation.
  • Ability to write production-quality code rather than relying exclusively on no-code automation tools.
  • Strong product sense: you can take an ambiguous business process, understand where the friction is, and design the right system to automate it.
  • Comfortable moving quickly and working directly with founders in an early-stage environment.

Strong Plus

  • Experience building internal tools or AI automation for GTM, recruiting, or operations.
  • Experience building multi-agent or long-running agent workflows.
  • Experience taking LLM-powered systems from prototype to reliable production usage.

The defining characteristic we’re looking for is product-minded engineering: someone who can look at a messy manual workflow, figure out what should and shouldn’t be automated, and then build the system themselves.
