Job description

Our core values are Compassion, Integrity, Quality, Respect and Teamwork., The Clinical Applications Analyst is a key member of the AHG Clinical Applications team, responsible for the configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of our electronic health record (EHR) platforms - with a primary focus on Epic EpicCare Ambulatory and secondary responsibility across athenahealth and other ancillary clinical systems. This role serves as the bridge between clinical operations and healthcare IT, translating real-world provider and staff workflows into effective system design, training, and support solutions across all AHG ambulatory practices., * Design, build, configure, test, and maintain EpicCare Ambulatory applications, including SmartForms, SmartText, order sets, referral workflows, scheduling templates, charge capture, and clinical documentation.

  • Translate clinical and operational workflows into Epic functionality; identify gaps between current-state processes and system capabilities and develop solutions to close them.
  • Participate in Epic upgrade cycles, including review of new features, build preparation, testing, and change communication to end users.
  • Maintain system build documentation, change logs, and configuration records in accordance with AHG governance standards.
  • Coordinate with Epic support, third-party vendors, and offshore support teams on enhancement requests, break/fix issues, and incident resolution.
  • Provide configuration support and workflow expertise for athenahealth, including template management, payer rules, order management, and clinical content.
  • Support integrations and workflows across ancillary platforms including WeInfuse (infusion suite management) and other AHG clinical applications.
  • Troubleshoot cross-platform issues and escalate to appropriate vendors or internal teams as warranted.
  • Partner with clinical operations, quality, and compliance teams to analyze, develop, and report on clinical processes and system performance data.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of ambulatory clinical workflows - including rheumatology-specific processes such as infusion management, prior authorization, and biologics documentation - to inform system design and training decisions.
  • Contribute to the AHG Clinical Applications team’s continuous improvement initiatives, including workflow documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Assess, design, develop, and deliver end-user education programs for clinical staff and providers based on needs assessments, new feature rollouts, system updates, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Provide classroom, one-on-one, and remote training as well as at-the-elbow support for clinicians and staff across AHG practice locations.
  • Manage training objections and knowledge gaps; collaborate with practice leadership to address ongoing learning needs.
  • Develop and maintain job aids, tip sheets, workflow documentation, and training materials for all supported platforms.
  • Actively contribute to the AHG Clinical Applications knowledge base within Halo ITSM, ensuring accurate and current documentation of known issues, workflows, and resolutions.
  • Manage assigned tickets through full lifecycle - intake, triage, resolution, and closure - in accordance with defined SLAs.
  • Identify ticket trends and recurring issues to recommend proactive system improvements or targeted training interventions.
  • Support and contribute to clinical system implementation projects, including planning, build, testing, training, and go-live activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Operations, Compliance, and Revenue Cycle to ensure EHR systems align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, data governance, and security policies across all clinical application work.
  • Travel to AHG practice sites for on-site training, go-lives, and workflow assessments as needed - up to 50%.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software implementation?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of healthcare IT or clinical informatics experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on EHR experience, with demonstrated proficiency in athenahealth required.
  • 3+ years of clinical application implementation experience.
  • 3+ years of informatics delivery, including workflow analysis, training program development, and end-user support.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in prioritizing work, responding to end-user needs, and escalating appropriately.
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
